Hola, we hope this finds you well and looking forward to some good times — perhaps on a trip with us!
We are the original lodge-to-lodge sea kayaking trip that takes visitors deep into the remote waters of Golfo Dulce, one of the few tropical fjords in the world. It is a realm of virgin rainforest that arcs high overhead, howling monkeys that leap from tree to tree, a place where birds and butterflies flit and soar by you with abandon, and a multitude of marine wildlife plays in the calm waters.
On this 8-day trip, you’ll be amazed at how many different places you will experience: we will explore deserted beaches and islands, hike through lush rain forests, paddle ocean waters and ancient mangrove forests, and dive under the water’s surface in remote snorkeling spots. You’ll stay at three unique waterfront, family-run ecolodges with comfortable amenities and delicious meals made with fresh, local, natural ingredients.
You’ll receive a unique and curated peek into the authentic Costa Rica. Guides have personal connections with people in all the places you will visit, making it a comfortable and relaxed experience. Our guide’s expertise in expedition leadership created a fun, safe, and fulfilling experience that made our vacation one to remember.
Sea Kayaking Costa Rica works closely with locals or “Ticos” as they are colloquially known. Their skills help you have a safer, more genuine vacation, and your participation in an SKCR trip has a genuinely positive economic impact on their lives. Above is pictured Abraham, a resident of the town of La Palma. By escorting paddlers on Golfo Dulce, he provides a helping hand and a sense of security as we navigate our tour’s final and longest (20km) stage.
Matías’s outgoing and friendly nature makes him the guide you are looking for. Not only that, but he’s perfectly fluent in English and Spanish.
His two decades of experience in the adventure travel profession and his extensive expertise in expedition leadership give him an edge in creating a fun, safe, and fulfilling experience that will make your vacation one to remember.
With a master’s degree in Environmental Management & Ecotourism, he has a strong interest in supporting sustainable tourism, biodiversity, and Costa Rica’s commitment to being an environmental leader.
