SEA KAYAKING COSTA RICA TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE 8-DAY LODGE-TO-LODGE GOLFO DULCE SEA KAYAKING TRIP

Included in the Trip Cost:

  • All activities and equipment as outlined in the itinerary
  • The expertise and services of our experienced adventure guides
  • Additional regional guides and local experts
  • Comprehensive Trip Planner with detailed pre-trip information
  • Seven nights of accommodation
  • Meals as outlined in the itinerary
  • All ground transportation as outlined in the itinerary
  • Domestic flight from Puerto Jimenez to San Jose

Not Included in the Trip Cost:

  • International flights to and from Costa Rica
  • Alcoholic beverages (Sea Kayaking Costa Rica, also written SKCR, provides wine at select events)
  • Travel Protection Program
  • Personal expenses
  • Gratuities for Sea Kayaking Costa Rica guides and other support staff
  • Single Supplement: If you are a single traveler or prefer not to share accommodation, a single supplement fee is charged with the final balance. Single accommodation is not always available.

BOOKING YOUR TRIP:  To book your trip, you can simply click any of the buttons on any of the website’s trip pages or contact our office via email at contact@seakayakingcostarica.com or call US & Canada Line U.S. Line (+1) 719-581-9891. A down payment is required at the time of reservation. Down payments are USD 500/person, payable by credit card, PayPal, or direct deposit. The final Balance is due 30 days before the trip commencement date.  Your booking is secured upon receiving your deposit. You will receive a booking confirmation email, a Costa Rica Useful Travel Tips Documenta Suggested Packing List, and our Survey Form to complete and submit online.

CANCELLATIONS: The date upon which we receive notice from you will be the date of cancellation. We only accept cancellations via email. In case of a cancellation of the trip requested more than two weeks before your official start date, Sea Kayaking Costa Rica will refund the entire amount minus the $100/ person Corcovado National Park Fees. In the event of a cancellation of the trip requested two weeks or less before your official trip start date, Sea Kayaking Costa Rica will refund the entire amount minus the down payment(s). No refunds will be issued on cancellations within 72 hours of trip Day 1. No refunds will be made in the event of interruption or cancellation by you after the vacation start date. All appropriate refunds will be made in US dollars to your credit card via Paypal, via wire, or through your travel agent (if applicable). We will not be responsible for you receiving refund money from your travel agent, some of whom may withhold an agency cancellation fee.

  • Comprehensive Trip Planner with detailed pre-trip information
  • Seven nights of accommodation
  • Meals as outlined in the itinerary
  • All ground transportation as outlined in the itinerary

Not Included in the Trip Cost:

  • International flights to and from Costa Rica
  • Alcoholic beverages (Sea Kayaking Costa Rica provides wine at select events)
  • Travel Protection Program
  • Personal expenses

Please note that this payment is not refundable, as it is destined to cover national park fees, and in turn, they do not refund or change dates or names.In the event of a cancellation of the trip requested two weeks or less, no refund will be issued. No refunds will be made in the event of interruption or cancellation by you after the vacation start date. All appropriate refunds will be made in US dollars to your credit card via Paypal, wire, or through your travel agent (if applicable). We will not be responsible for your receipt of refund monies from your travel agent, some of whom may withhold an agency cancellation fee.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE PANAMA SEA KAYAKING ADVENTURE: SAN BLAS KAYAKING AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

 Included in the Trip Cost:

  • Bilingual Sea Kayaking Guide
  • Kuna Sea Kayaking Guide
  • Local support staff, including professional cooks preparing meals on location
  • Support boat with licensed captain and mariner
  • All transportation from arrival on day 1 through departure from Panama City on day 9
  • Two nights hotel in Panama City with breakfast included
  • 5 nights camping in Kuna Yala
  • Meals as outlined in the itinerary
  • All activities and equipment as outlined in the itinerary
  • All transportation from arrival on day 1 through departure from Panama City on day 8
  • Detailed Packing List
  • Sea Kayaking Costa Rica provides wine at select meals

Not Included in the Trip Cost:

  • International flights to and from Panama
  • Insurance of any kind, including travel or mandatory medical evacuation insurance
  • Alcohol (except wine at select meals) and personal items (an equipment list will be provided)
  • Guide gratuities – the standard is 10-15%, and the trip leader will gladly distribute this amongst the support staff
  • Sleeping pads
  • Single Supplement: If you are a single traveler or prefer not to share accommodation, a single supplement fee is charged with the final balance. Single accommodation is not always available.

In the event of a cancellation of the trip requested less than three weeks or less before your official trip start date, Sea Kayaking Costa Rica will refund the entire amount minus the down payment(s). No refund will be issued on cancellations within one week of the trip Day 1. No refunds will be made in the event of interruption or cancellation by you after the vacation start date. All appropriate refunds will be made in US dollars to your credit card via Paypal, via wire, or through your travel agent (if applicable). We will not be responsible for you receiving refund money from your travel agent, some of whom may withhold an agency cancellation fee. We strongly urge you to investigate trip insurance.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLYING TO ALL OF THE TRIPS MENTIONED ABOVE

MEDICAL: Under most circumstances, if you are adventurous and in reasonably good health, you should have no problem enjoying an SKCR trip. People with medical conditions, including pregnancy, should have a physician’s approval before taking an adventure travel trip. SKCR will assist but will not pay any participant medical costs.

EVACUATIONS: Evacuations can be prolonged, complex, and expensive. SKCR will help coordinate but will not pay for the cost incurred in evacuating a participant.

LOST OR DAMAGED PROPERTY: Personal belongings and cameras are carried entirely at the owner’s risk. SKCR accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen property.

INSURANCE: We advise you to purchase emergency medical evacuation insurance when participating in our trip . Check that your chosen plan includes the emergency medical evacuation coverage mentioned above. We recommend the services of Travel Insured International: https://www.travelinsured.com/

NAME CHANGES: Reservations and package components are non-transferable. We will make a reasonable effort to accommodate changes to Guest names before departure provided that at least one member of the initially booked party travels; however, we reserve the right to pass on to you any third-party costs (such as from Airlines or Suppliers (as defined herein) we incur in so doing.

ITINERARY CHANGES AND CANCELLATION BY US: We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, deviations from planned vacation package itineraries or any aspects of the travel may occur. Suppose sea kayaking, river trips, domestic flights, and other package elements encounter conditions that make routes unsafe for navigation or raise sufficient doubt about safety. We reserve the right for our guides to modify the itinerary in the best interest of the group, logistics, and safety. We reserve the right for guides to modify or dictate the configuration of paddlers (use of single vs. double kayaks) based on their criteria and/or in the best interest, logistics, seniority, availability, and group safety.

We reserve the right to modify or provide alternate services, which may include, but are not limited to, providing accommodation elsewhere and substituting ground transportation for domestic flights. Any third-party air travel provider, third-party ground transfer, third-party tour operator (all now designated as our “our suppliers”), or SKCR reserves the right to curtail or modify the itinerary or to substitute itineraries, routes, activities, hotels, meals, or transportation as we or they deem necessary. Please also note that some activities may be disrupted or unavailable during certain holidays and peak periods or due to repairs or renovations. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the vacation package price or entitle you to any credit or refund.

GUESTS NEEDING SPECIAL ASSISTANCE: Certain itineraries may include activities that present challenges or are unsuitable for guests with special needs. If you require special assistance, please ask us if any of the trips we offer are ideal. Guests requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion capable of and responsible for assisting. Neither we nor our Suppliers may physically lift or assist Guests onto vehicles, up staircases, over uneven terrain, or otherwise. Please contact Sea Kayaking Costa Rica to discuss your specific needs.

SPECIAL REQUESTS: We will make a reasonable effort to accommodate special requests, such as smoking, adjacent or connecting rooms, bed size, and dietary needs; however, we cannot guarantee these requests will be accommodated.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: Guests must clearly state all their dietary requirements at the time of booking. We cannot guarantee that special dietary requirements can be met, though we will try our best to accommodate these needs.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO TRAVEL/GUEST RESPONSIBILITIES: Guests are solely responsible for obtaining current travel advisories, warnings, and requirements (such as visas and passports) by contacting their state department, applicable embassies, consulates and.or travel agent. We strongly encourage guests to visit the US State Department’s website at http://travel.state.gov or call 1-888-407-4747 for the most current passport and visa requirements. Non-U.S. residents, please consult the appropriate consulates regarding passport, visa, and other document requirements. All guests must have valid government-issued proof of citizenship to travel, as well as any other requirements of the country of origin and countries visited. Those without proper documentation may be denied travel. In addition, travelers may be refused entry to the countries visited if they do not meet the country’s entry requirements. Guests are solely responsible for notifying us of flight changes affecting your arrival, or we will not be able to meet you at the specified arrival airport.

SERVICE PROVIDERS: The services provided in connection with the itineraries, including, without limitation, transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurants, guide service, and other services, are purchased from various independent suppliers who are not affiliated with us in any way (“Suppliers”). Although we endeavor to choose high-quality Suppliers, we do not control their operations and, therefore, we shall not be liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, irregularity, bodily injury, illness, emotional distress, death, damage or loss to property occasioned through the conduct or omission of any Supplier, each of which is subject to laws of the state or country where the service is provided.

AUTHORITY TO DECLINE PASSENGERS OR REMOVE PASSENGERS FROM ANY TRIPS:  We reserve the right to accept or reject any person as a tour passenger. We reserve the right to expel any passenger from a tour if we deem this necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour participants, including if their behavior is considered to cause or be likely to cause danger, distress, or annoyance to other passengers or if we reasonably determine their condition would adversely affect your health, safety or enjoyment or that of other passengers.

Disrespectful, hostile behavior or use of explicit/derogatory language, profanity, abusive language, obscenity, expletives, vulgarism, or slurs to local residents, other trip guests, guides, or any staff will result in the immediate cancellation of a guest’s participation in the trip with no refund. If a guide or company management chooses to remove a guest from a trip, the guest will not be entitled to any refund, payment, compensation, or credit for unused or missed services or costs incurred resulting from the termination of the travel arrangements.  In addition, that guest will be responsible for your travel costs when returning home.
