ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLYING TO ANY OF THE TRIPS MENTIONED ABOVE
MEDICAL: Under most circumstances, if you are adventurous and in reasonably good health, you should have no problem enjoying an SKCR trip. People with medical conditions, including pregnancy, should have a physician’s approval before taking an adventure travel trip. Insurance Personal belongings and cameras are carried entirely at the owner’s risk. SKCR accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen property. INSURANCE: We advise you to purchase emergency medical evacuation insurance when participating in this expedition. Check that your chosen plan includes the emergency medical evacuation coverage mentioned above. Evacuations can be prolonged, complex, and expensive. Personal belongings and cameras are carried entirely at the owner’s risk. SKCR accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen property. We recommend the services of Travel Insured International: https://www.travelinsured.com/ NAME CHANGES: Reservations and package components are non-transferable. We will make a reasonable effort to accommodate changes to Guest names before departure provided that at least one member of the initially booked party travels; however, we reserve the right to pass on to you any third-party costs (such as from Airlines or Suppliers (as defined herein) we incur in so doing. ITINERARY CHANGES AND CANCELLATION BY US: We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, deviations from planned vacation package itineraries or any aspects of the travel may occur. Suppose sea kayaking, river trips, domestic flights, and other package elements encounter conditions that make routes unsafe for navigation or raise sufficient doubt about safety. We reserve the right for our guides to modify the itinerary in the best interest of the group, logistics, and safety. We reserve the right for guides to modify or dictate the configuration of paddlers (use of single vs. double kayaks) based on their criteria and/or in the best interest, logistics, seniority, availability, and group safety. We reserve the right to modify or provide alternate services, which may include, but are not limited to, providing accommodation elsewhere and substituting ground transportation for domestic flights. Any third-party air travel provider, third-party ground transfer, third-party tour operator (all now designated as our “our suppliers”), or SKCR reserves the right to curtail or modify the itinerary or to substitute itineraries, routes, activities, hotels, meals, or transportation as we or they deem necessary. Please also note that some activities may be disrupted or unavailable during certain holidays and peak periods or due to repairs or renovations. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the vacation package price or entitle you to any credit or refund. GUESTS NEEDING SPECIAL ASSISTANCE: Certain itineraries may include activities that present challenges or are unsuitable for guests with special needs. If you require special assistance, please ask us if any of the trips we offer are ideal. Guests requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion capable of and responsible for assisting. Neither we nor our Suppliers may physically lift or assist Guests onto vehicles, up staircases, over uneven terrain, or otherwise. Please contact Sea Kayaking Costa Rica to discuss your specific needs. SPECIAL REQUESTS: We will make a reasonable effort to accommodate special requests, such as smoking, adjacent or connecting rooms, bed size, and dietary needs; however, we cannot guarantee these requests will be accommodated. SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: Guests must clearly state all their dietary requirements at the time of booking. We cannot guarantee that special dietary requirements can be met, though we will try our best to accommodate these needs. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO TRAVEL/GUEST RESPONSIBILITIES: Guests are solely responsible for obtaining current travel advisories, warnings, and requirements (such as visas and passports) by contacting their state department, applicable embassies, consulates and.or travel agent. We strongly encourage guests to visit the US State Department’s website at http://travel.state.gov or call 1-888-407-4747 for the most current passport and visa requirements. Non-U.S. residents, please consult the appropriate consulates regarding passport, visa, and other document requirements. All guests must have valid government-issued proof of citizenship to travel, as well as any other requirements of the country of origin and countries visited. Those without proper documentation may be denied travel. In addition, travelers may be refused entry to the countries visited if they do not meet the country’s entry requirements. Guests are solely responsible for notifying us of flight changes affecting your arrival, or we will not be able to meet you at the specified arrival airport. SERVICE PROVIDERS: The services provided in connection with the itineraries, including, without limitation, transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurants, guide service, and other services, are purchased from various independent suppliers who are not affiliated with us in any way (“Suppliers”). Although we endeavor to choose high-quality Suppliers, we do not control their operations and, therefore, we shall not be liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, irregularity, bodily injury, illness, emotional distress, death, damage or loss to property occasioned through the conduct or omission of any Supplier, each of which is subject to laws of the state or country where the service is provided. AUTHORITY TO DECLINE PASSENGERS OR REMOVE PASSENGERS FROM ANY TRIPS: We reserve the right to accept or reject any person as a tour passenger. We reserve the right to expel any passenger from a tour if we deem this necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour participants, including if their behavior is considered to cause or be likely to cause danger, distress, or annoyance to other passengers or if we reasonably determine their condition would adversely affect your health, safety or enjoyment or that of other passengers. Disrespectful, hostile behavior or use of explicit/derogatory language, profanity, abusive language, obscenity, expletives, vulgarism, or slurs to local residents, other trip guests, guides, or any staff will result in the immediate cancellation of a guest’s participation in the trip with no refund. If a guide or company management chooses to remove a guest from a trip, the guest will not be entitled to any refund, payment, compensation, or credit for unused or missed services or costs incurred resulting from the termination of the travel arrangements.
